Peter A. (Ascent of Mt. Artos, Mt. Süphan, Mt. Ararat and Mt. Kasbek)

We went home very well yesterday. It was a very nice time for us in Turkey and Georgia. It was a pity that the climb of Mt. Kasbek was not successful, but turning back is part of the mountaineering and our decision to stop at 4600 m because of the avalanche risk was certainly the right one.

We are very satisfied with the services of you and Yildrim. Yildrim is a very good mountain guide and we really appreciate his open and humorous way. Many thanks for everything!!!

Here the Kurds, the PKK, there Armenia, less than 10 minutes away the border to Iran. The actual volcano is bubbling in people here. Continue reading detailed travel report ...

Andie Riesner (unfortunately fatal accident in the Alps in 2012)

Skiing on the Ararat - a light but high mountain in Turkey.

In search of a technically rather light, but nevertheless high mountain for Alpine conditions, which I can climb with my girlfriend on skis, I came across the 5137 m highest mountain in Turkey - the Ararat. The fact that this mountain was closed to mountaineers for 15 years until 3 years ago also made it very interesting. So we decided to make this trip and on May 14th it was time. Departure in Schwechat.

In 2013, blind mountaineer Andy Holzer climbed Mt. Ararat with us on skis. You can find the photos of the climb here ...
